When Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg turned 80, she had never expected to become an icon. RBG has been on the right side of history for more than 40 years, fighting tirelessly for women to be seen as equal citizens under the law but she only became "notorious" on June 25, 2013.
After another round of furious dissents, particularly in the landmark Shelby County v. Holder case, which gutted the 1965 Voting Rights Act, NYU law student Shana Knizhnik launched the Notorious R.B.G. Tumblr. The idea was conceived based on the moniker of the iconic rapper, The Notorious B.I.G., who was a native of Brooklyn just like Ginsburg. An explosion of memes and merchandise quickly followed, while another dissenting opinion from Ginsburg, in the 2014 Burwell v. Hobby Lobby case gave further push to the viral sensation and became a full-blown cultural phenomenon over the next several years.

Glimmerglass is inspired by the second-largest summer opera festival of the same name which is set to happen annually during the east coast's warmest months. As an avid fan of opera, Ginsburg would always be there to share her perspectives about the intersection of law and opera.
The opera happens annually at Otsego Lake, where the vibrant reflection of sunlight on a watery surface shines like Glimmerglass during summer.

One of RBG's favourite places to eat was in her New York City home, where her beloved husband would always reign chef supreme. Marty Ginsburg became known for his culinary skills because of Ruth.
"I learned very early on in our marriage that Ruth was a fairly terrible cook and, for lack of interest, unlikely to improve. Out of self-preservation, I decided I had better learn to cook because Ruth, to quote her precisely, was expelled from the kitchen by her food-loving children nearly a quarter-century ago."
Marty's love for cooking was so well recognised that a tribute was made in the form of a cookbook where Marty's perfected family recipes were published, including Ruth's favourite dessert, the Frozen Lime Souffle.
